Naturopathic Medicine in Scottsdale, AZ

...

I believe in individualized care and treating the whole person; not just your symptoms. My goal, regardless of your specific complaints, is to comprehensively assess and evaluate all the various aspects that could be contributing to your chief complaints. A person manifests symptoms when there is imbalance. The imbalance must be addressed along with getting to the "root of the problem". I have patients who want to achieve optimal health; and others who have serious, chronic conditions that severely impact their quality of life. I strive to meet the needs of all my patients. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how I can best meet your needs.

The Philosophy of Naturopathic Medicine

The philosophical approach of naturopathic medicine includes prevention of disease, encouragement of the body's inherent healing abilities, natural treatment of the whole person, personal responsibility for one's health, and empowering the client in health promoting lifestyles.

Naturopathic medicine blends centuries-old knowledge of natural, nontoxic therapies with current advances in the understanding of biology, biochemistry, physics and physiology. The scope of practice encompasses all aspects of family and primary care.

  • First do no harm: Start with the lowest force of intervention to minimize side effects and optimize the healing process.
  • Doctor as Teacher: Naturopatic physicians empower and educate clients enabling them to take an active role in the management of their health.
  • Vis Medicatrix Naturae (The Healing Power of Nature): An individual has the innate power to heal; the physician helps to facilitate this process.
  • Treat the Whole Person: The complexity of an individual must be addressed to truly reach optimal health.
  • Find and Identify the Cause: It is not enough to just treat the symptoms; determining the cause is the essential component of treatment.
  • Prevention and Wellness: Basic lifestyle changes and fundamentals such as good nutrition, hygiene and stress reduction can be effective in preventing disease.
